SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION
Basic purpose of position: Perform the essential functions required to safely move vehicles throughout the customers’ property in preparation for shipment. Associates designated as Senior/Lead Vehicle Shuttlers have mastered the skills required of a Vehicle Shuttler and are able to perform essentially error-free work without direct supervision.
Expectation: We expect all associates to be committed to a high standard of safety, be willing and able to comply with all safety policies/rules and willing to report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory personnel. Individuals performing this function must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of himself/herself or others. Job Performance without equipment damage is essential to meeting our customers’ safety, quality and production requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Comply with all industry, customer and company safety regulations and operating procedures;
- Conduct Vehicle inventory;
- Where applicable assist in the operation of a tag/rinse vehicle wash facility;
- Drive manual and standard transmission motor vehicles, at all times, in accordance with company and customer instructions/procedures;
- Drive vehicles to proper parking bay by assigned route;
- Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such a level as in determined by the company’s sole discretion;
- Perform housekeeping duties as required by site management;
- Must be able to work mandatory overtime hours when operating requirements or other business needs cannot be fulfilled during regular business hours;

Education Requirements: Eighth grade education or ability.
Experience Requirements: No prior experience needed to perform below the Senior Vehicle Shuttler position.
Skills, Licenses, Certification, and/or Special Training:
- Must maintain a valid state driver’s license if required to operate company equipment;
- Must be able to safely operate vehicles with either a standard and/or automatic transmission;
- Meet and maintain all requirements contained in the Conditions of Employment policy.
Physical, Mental & Sensory Requirements:
- Ability to constantly work in an indoor/outdoor environment, exposed to all weather elements, including extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust and noisy conditions;
- In locations that operate a tag/rinse facility; ability to frequently be exposed to conditions of airborne water vapor and condensation;
- Constantly required to use bending, kneeling, twisting and walking motions to enter/exit vehicles and shuttle vans;
- Possess physical strength and agility to constantly open and close automobile doors throughout shift;
- Constantly perform prolonged standing and/or walking at a rapid pace to keep up with demands of plant operations up to 5 miles in an 8 hour shift;
- Ability to read Vehicle Identification Numbers and other shipping documents;
- Must be able to hear and communicate, work or safety instructions spoken in a normal voice;
- Must have visual acuity and normal depth perception in both eyes to inspect and drive motor vehicles in limited lighting to include night/dusk and inside plant operations.
- Ability to communicate telephonically with two-way radios;
- Must be able to work independently;
- Must be able to properly wear all required Personal Protective Equipment;
- Must be able to walk on a moving assembly line belt.
